Changes to Closing the Gap PBS Co-payment Program

Changes to the Closing the Gap (CTG) PBS Co-payment Program will come into effect on 1 July 2021.
The following factsheets outline the changes:

The changes aim to improve access to CTG scripts for clients regardless of their geographical location, the prescriber (including hospitals and specialists), their chronic disease status, and Practice Incentive Payment (PIP) enrolment. 

Changes to the CTG PBS Co-payment Program relate to reforms announced as part of the Seventh Community Pharmacy Agreement (7CPA) on 1 July 2020.


GP representation – Information for members

The RACGP has developed an information sheet for members on what to consider if you are thinking about getting involved in GP representation. It outlines:

  • why you should consider representation opportunities

  • the types of representation roles available

  • what you should consider when deciding whether to nominate for representative roles

  • how to claim CPD points for representation work

  • where to find further information.

Dare to Innovate: Hepatitis C models of care

Presented by the Australasian Society for HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health Medicine (ASHM), this interactive webinar aims to reinvigorate GP engagement in prescribing direct-acting antiviral (DAA) therapy for hepatitis C.

Find accurate information about prescribing medication in clinical practice

As a GP, having access to reliable information about prescription medication enables you to make clinical decisions with confidence.

Remote Vocational Training Scheme applications now open

The Remote Vocational Training Scheme (RVTS) is a unique Commonwealth-funded Fellowship program providing vocational training for medical practitioners in rural and remote MMM 4–7 locations or Aboriginal Medical Services (AMS) in MMM 2–7 locations.

Applications for round one of the 2022 intake are now open until Sunday 4 July 2021. The RVTS will offer 32 training positions for the 2022 intake, 22 in the remote training stream, and 10 in the AMS training stream. 

There are targeted recruitment positions available in selected areas of high workforce need across Australia.
RVTS registrars stay in their community throughout their training and are linked into a nationwide network of medical educators, supervisors, and fellow trainees.

Identifying developmental concerns in school-aged children

A child’s mental health is intimately tied to their development and their developmental needs. It’s important for GPs to understand a child’s developmental journey so that they can respond to children in ways that are appropriate to their age.

Presented by the RACGP and Emerging Minds, this free webinar will explore how ‘typical development’ is defined in children aged 5–12, and the relationship between mental health difficulties and developmental difficulties in school-aged children.

Participants will learn how to identify developmental concerns and apply effective management approaches to support children with developmental challenges.
