RACGP Federal Election Campaign survey: Have your say
RACGP members are invited to complete a five-minute survey on our 2019 Federal Election advocacy efforts.
The RACGP ran a campaign to increase awareness of the issues affecting GPs and their patients. The campaign consisted of two main parts:
- Providing members with materials that could be used to brief local candidates on the issues. These materials were available from the RACGP website for all members to download.
- An advertising campaign that ran in mainstream and social media for several weeks prior to the election.
We are seeking member participation in a short online survey conducted by EY Sweeney to help the RACGP plan and sharpen its approach to the next Federal and State election campaigns.
Responses are anonymous and the data will be received in aggregate form.
The survey closes at midnight, Sunday 16 June.
Eligible members have been sent a unique URL via email on 1 June, followed by a reminder email on 12 June.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and Rural faculty awards closing 17 June
RACGP Rural awards recognise outstanding achievements and exceptional individuals for their contribution to rural general practice.
Nominations for the Brian Williams, Medical Student Bursary, Rural Registrar of the Year, and Community Project of the Year awards are now open.

RACGP Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health offers awards to a Fellow, member of the RACGP or an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person who has contributed to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Nominations for the Growing Strong, Standing Strong Together, and Student Bursary awards are now open.

Review of the Practice Incentives Program Indigenous Health Incentive
The Department of Health is currently undertaking a review of the Practice Incentives Program Indigenous Health Incentive (PIP IHI) and is seeking your participation.
A number of workshops are being held in capital cities and some regional areas throughout June and July. The workshops seek to understand, through your knowledge and experience, how the PIP IHI currently influences the care of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with chronic disease.

Public consultation on Australia’s next antimicrobial resistance strategy
The Department of Health (DoH) is consulting on Australia’s next antimicrobial resistance strategy.
The current strategy, Australia’s First National Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Strategy 2015–2019, is due to expire at the end of 2019.
Australia’s next antimicrobial resistance strategy for 2020 and beyond will be a 20-year vision that is flexible and resilient. It will expand its focus to include the environment, food and other antimicrobials, such as antifungals and antivirals, becoming all-encompassing in its ‘One Health’ approach.
The long-term vision of the next strategy will encourage the development andimplementation of sector-specific action plans to ensure clear accountability in addressing antimicrobial resistance.

RACGP eHealth webinar series – Improving health record quality in general practice
The RACGP eHealth webinar series presents monthly webinars on topics pertinent to general practice.
This month’s webinars will outline what constitutes a high-quality health record and how practices can put systems in place to ensure they produce health records that are fit for purpose, in alignment with Improving health record quality in general practice.
A number of session times are available. Visit the RACGP website to register. Webinars are accredited for two Category 2 RACGP QI&CPD points and are free for all participants.
Webinar recordings are made available via the RACGP website at the conclusion of each month’s sessions.
RACGP GP wellbeing survey
The RACGP's GP wellbeing survey has been designed to gain insights and opinions on GP wellbeing in Australian general practice.
GPs and general practice registrars currently practising in Australia are invited to contribute and have their say. Your experience and insights will assist the RACGP in understanding what supports are currently accessed, where future investment is needed, and the barriers and challenges faced by GPs in relation to their own wellbeing and mental health.
The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and all responses are anonymous.
The deadline for completion of the survey is 30 June.
