RACGP Standards for point-of-care testing awarded international accreditation

Given the significant advancements in technology and enhancements to the sophistication and reliability of devices, point-of-care testing is becoming more accessible for health services outside of traditional pathology laboratories.

The RACGP Standards for point-of-care testing (5th edition) (The Standards) were launched at GP18 with the aim to improve the quality and safety of point-of-care testing performed by general practices.

The RACGP Standards have been successfully accredited by the International Society for Quality in Health Care External Evaluation Association (IEEA). This accreditation validates the robustness and rigor of the development and implementation of the RACGP Standards, and further recognises that they meet international standards of quality and safety.

Visit the RACGP website to access a copy of Standards for point of care testing (5th edition).
