Testing tool for sexually transmitted infections

NSW Health has developed a new testing tool for sexually transmitted infections (STI) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) for GPs and other primary care clinicians.

The NSW Health tool advises GPs on how to offer routine STI/HIV testing in different consultations, conduct a brief risk assessment and take a sexual history, conduct routine STI/HIV testing, perform contact tracing, and access available resources and additional support.

GPs and clinicians can access the testing tool, as well as clinical management guidelinespatient factsheets and education on the NSW Health website.
