Influenza vaccines during pregnancy – Educational videos

The Department of Health (DoH) developed educational videos in 2017 for healthcare professionals and patients to help promote influenza vaccinations to pregnant women and highlight associated risks and benefits.

RACGP members are encouraged to share the videos with their patients to highlight the importance of influenza vaccination during pregnancy.

Vaccination remains the best protection pregnant women and their newborn babies have against influenza, but despite influenza vaccination being available free to pregnant women on the National Immunisation Program, vaccination rates remain low.

The videos have been recently updated and are available on the DoH immunisation website.
