Family abuse and violence – Are you ready to respond?

The RACGP has launched a Family Abuse and Violence Professional Development Program for general practice teams to help respond and support individuals and families experiencing family violence.

The program looks at the prevalence of family violence in the community, as well as the social complexities and dynamics that contribute to violence against women, and is designed to assist GPs and practice teams to work together and link patients with other services.

GPs who take part in the QI&CPD accredited program will learn how to better use their communication, risk-assessment and care management skills in the context of family violence.

Visit the RACGP website for more information.

Information security in general practice consultation

The RACGP has released the consultation draft of Information security in general practice.

Information security in general practice is a new resource replacing the Computer and information security standards (2nd edition) (CISS). It does not impose new professional obligations, but is designed to assist practices in meeting legal obligations and necessary requirements for accreditation against RACGP Standards for general practices (5th edition).

The RACGP is seeking input from GPs, members of their practice teams and groups working with general practices regarding the usability of the resource and the scope of information that is provided.

Consultation closes at 5.00 pm on Friday 15 December 2017.

Visit the RACGP website to access the resource and complete the survey.
