As the philanthropic arm of the RACGP, the Australian General Practice Research Foundation is dedicated to supporting research that improves patient care, informs healthcare policy and guidelines, empowers our healthcare professionals, and builds healthier communities.

Our vision is to empower every GP in Australia with evidence-based insights and solutions tailored to the unique general practice environment, ensuring they can deliver the highest standard of care possible and achieve better health outcomes for all Australians.

Strengthening GP care

General practice is the backbone of our healthcare system, with 9 in 10 Australians visiting their GP each year. Yet, despite its deep and long-term connection to the health of millions of Australians, general practice receives less than 2% of our national medical research funding. This gap highlights an urgent need for more research funding to support GPs in providing the best care possible.
