1. Introduction

This guidance document outlines the process for candidate’s to apply for Fellowship via the Practice Based Assessment (PBA) Pathway.

2.Definitions

Applicant A medical practitioner applying for entry into the Practice Based

Candidate A medical practitioner enrolled in the Practice Based Assessment Pathway.

3. Guidance

3.1 The candidate can access the Fellowship Application Form from their results statement when they log into the RACGP website.

3.2 The candidate must complete the Fellowship Application Form and submit it to their state faculty including:

  1. A correctly completed Fellowship Application Form
  2. Documentary evidence of completion of:
    1. A Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course within the 12 months prior to applying for Fellowship
    2. An Advanced Life Support (ALS) course within the four years prior to applying for Fellowship
    3. A minimum of four years and six months full time equivalent general practice experience over the last ten years, which must include one year full time equivalent comprehensive Australian general practice.

3.2.1 The candidate will receive notification of the outcome of the application within 6 weeks from the date application was submitted to the RACGP.
