Join the RACGP Mentoring Program and gain valuable support, guidance and perspective from an experienced GP who understands the opportunities and challenges of a career in general practice. Whether you're navigating a new role, considering your next career step, building confidence as a leader, or looking for a trusted sounding board, mentoring can help you grow both professionally and personally.
As a mentee, you'll be matched with a mentor and supported to build a meaningful mentoring relationship throughout the program. Participants are asked to complete approximately 2–3 hours of onboarding prior to program launch and commit to around one hour per month for mentor-mentee catch ups from August to March, either virtually or in person where agreed with your mentor. The program is designed to be flexible, supportive and practical, providing a structured opportunity to reflect, learn and invest in your ongoing development.

- The program team may contact you for further information to support the matching process.
- You will be asked to review mentor profiles and nominate your top 5 preferences (we’ll do our best to match you with your preferred mentor).
Step 3: Matching
Our team carefully considers your experience, skills and goals to connect you with a mentor best suited to support your development.
Step 4: Onboarding and training
Access the mentee training sessions in the Program Hub on
gplearning. This training prepares you to get the most from your mentoring relationship.
