CPR for GPs - Full

Workshop full to view more dates click here.

This CPR course is run in conjunction with Medical Training Solutions and provides participants with topical emergency presentations and recent changes in emergency practice, tailored specifically for GPs.

This workshop is presented in accordance with the current guidelines of the Australian Resuscitation Council and covers all aspects of resuscitation and basic life support.

Completion of a CPR course is a requirement for the 2023-25 triennium.

GP Management of Alcohol and Other Drug Use


Join us for dinner and discussion at our evening session on GP managment of alcohol and other drug use.

This session will review the key components of the main substances (alcohol, sedative/hypotics, opiods, methamphetamine and tobacco) followed by case-based discussion. Attendees are welcome to submit their own clinical case study ahead of the session via wa.events@racgp.org.au. Presented by Dr Michael Christmass.

Online Focussed Psychological Strategies Skills Training

The RACGP Rural Focussed Psychological Strategies Skills Training (FPS ST) package provides GPs with essential training to enable them to become a GP provider of Focussed Psychological Strategies (FPS) and provide CBT-derived FPS counselling to patients in their practice.

This flexible, innovative training package is made up of four Modules and uses a combination of technology, peer learning groups and locally available resources to provide GPs with access to FPS skills training whist remaining in their practice and community.

Please note: Level 1 Mental Health Skills Training (MHST) is a prerequisite for enrolment in the FPS ST training package.

The training package has GPMHSC accreditation and on completion GPs can gain FPS provider registration with Medicare to access FPS related MBS numbers 2721, 2723, 2725 and 2727.

FPS CPD Case-Based Discussions

The Focussed Psychological Strategies (FPS) CPD case-based discussions is a continuing professional development activity that has been designed to support GPs who are already implementing FPS with patients, evaluating their practice, and further developing their skills. Each participant will present a case and through peer-group discussions, participants will extend their FPS skills by exploring the intervention methods they currently use. Participants will also review challenging cases and develop strategies for addressing barriers to achieving best practice.

This activity is offered via the Zoom platform and comprises of four, two-hour case-based discussion sessions from 5:30 - 7:30pm AEST on Wednesday 20 August, 3 September, 17 September & 24 September 2025.

Cost: $395 for RACGP members and $495 for non-members.

This course is a CPD Approved Activity under the RACGP CPD Program (eligible for 9 hours) and accredited as an FPS CPD course by the GPMHSC.

Online Emergency Medicine for Rural GPs

Designed and facilitated by experienced rural GPs and emergency specialists, the emergency medicine for rural GPs workshop aims to enhance rural emergency medicine skills using case scenarios that reflect the challenges faced when living and working in rural and remote communities.

This online workshop involves four, small-group interactive case scenario discussions, exploring critical considerations involved in managing rural emergency cases, packaging patients for retrieval, communicating effectively with retrieval teams, debriefing and self-care. All the scenarios included in the workshop are written by experienced rural GPs from actual cases.
GPs can earn 1.5 EA and 4 RP CPD hours.
