Permissible and prohibited items for interviews

Applicants will require the following items to participate in the RACGP PESCI:

  • Laptop or desktop computer with webcam and audio (speaker and microphone) for using Zoom
  • Photo ID

Applicants are permitted to have the following items with them during the interview:

  • Medication
  • Water
  • Pens, blank paper should you wish to take notes however, sharing case material is prohibited
  • Ensure your mobile phone is switched off, kept face down and not within reach. Mobile phones must not be used during the interview and, recording of the interview is prohibited


Applicants are not permitted to have the following prohibited items present during the interview:

  • Timing or recording devices e.g. iPads, tablets, organisers
  • Smart Glasses, prescription or non-prescription e.g. Meta Glasses
  • Medical charts or posters must not be visible or accessible in your background during the interview
  • Study material, this is a closed book interview


Please check your room and remove any prohibited items on you before you log in to begin your interview.  

At any point during the interview, you may be required to demonstrate that you are not concealing prohibited items or asked to present items such as eyeglasses for inspection. These checks are to ensure the integrity of the interview process is not compromised.

If you don’t comply with these rules, you will be investigated in line with the Academic Misconduct Policy
