Program fees and charges
The PEP Specialist fees are summarised below. Fees are current as of 3 June 2024.

What your fees cover
The comparability application fee is payable at the time of application by all applicants who are seeking to enter the PEP Specialist. The comparability application fee covers:
- administration of the assessment
- assessment of the application by qualified assessors.
The PEP Specialist fee is payable at the time that the participant commences work at an approved practice/training site. The PEP Specialist fee covers:
- Medical educator meetings and support
- workplace-based assessment
- multi-source feedback tool
- access to the PEP portal and learning units
- administration and authorisation of Medicare provider number applications
- general program administration
- operational support.
The PEP post-education administration support fee is applicable to Partially Comparable participants and is payable on an annual basis following the completion of the training program, until the participant is admitted to Fellowship or leaves the pathway.
The post-education administration support fee covers:
- operational support
- access to the PEP portal
- administration and authorisation of Medicare provider number applications
- monitoring exam eligibility and/or Fellowship progress.
What other fees are payable?
It is a requirement that you hold current membership of the RACGP. Information on RACGP membership fees can be found here.
Exam fees are also payable for participants that are determined to hold Partially Comparable qualifications. Information on RACGP exam fees can be found here.
As of 3 June 2024, RACGP exam fees are as follows:
- Applied Knowledge Test (AKT) - 2024.2 - $2,555
- Key Feature Problem (KFP) - 2024.2 - $2,555
- Clinical Competency Exam (CCE) - 2024.1 - $4,990 or 2024.2 - $5,225.
Examples of fee change implications depending on participant status
Example one
You have submitted an application for a comparability assessment prior to 3 June 2024 and your assessment outcome states that you are Substantially or Partially Comparable. You commence work at your approved practice/training site prior to 1 December 2024. Your fees would be as follows:
- Comparability assessment $575
- PEP Specialist fee $8,000
- RACGP membership fee is payable on commencement of the program and annually thereafter
- Exam fees will be payable if Partially Comparable (PC)
- You do not have to pay the post-education administration support fee.
Example two
You have submitted an application for a comparability assessment prior to 3 June 2024 and your assessment outcome states that you are Substantially or Partially Comparable. You commence work at your approved practice/training site after 1 December 2024. Your fees would be as follows:
- Comparability assessment $575
- PEP Specialist fee $11,900
- Post-education administration support fee. (PC: $300 per annum until Fellowship is achieved. Payment is made following program completion.)
- RACGP membership fee is payable on commencement of the program and annually thereafter.
- Exam fees will be payable if Partially Comparable (PC).
RACGP may review fees and charges at any time and can make changes due to a variety of factors including operational costs, improvements to programs and delivery requirements.
RACGP understands the impact of these changes on participants and will notify participants of any fee charges prior to commencement.
