Experience diverse primary health contexts across Australia during a safe and supported training term. Remote supervision placements are available to registrars that have:  

• Completed GPT 2+ with the appropriate skill level, competence, and experience to work in the chosen location  
• Demonstrated a willingness to work remotely in a team environment  
• An awareness of personal limitations, ability to utilise feedback and good communication skils 
• The ability and willingness to use IT to enable remote support.

To work as a remote supervisor, you need to be accredited by the RACGP and are required to have:  

• Experience and competence as a supervisor   
• The availability and ability to travel to the remote location 
• Previous working experience in the remote location or similar  
• Ability to use practice software and manage IT connectivity  
• Creativity and commitment to provide high level remote support. 

Remote supervisors can choose to be involved as a primary or secondary supervisor, or become part of the RACGP pool to cover leave when a primary supervisor is unavailable.  
 

To become a remote supervision training site, there must be community need for general practice support in your location. In addition to meeting the regular training site requirements, a remote supervision site is required to have:    

• No (or limited) onsite accredited supervisor  
• Willingness to engage a GP registrar and to provide cultural support 
• Adequate consulting space and equipment 
• Suitable and safe housing 
• Reliable IT connectivity 
• A willingness to establish an onsite supervision team.
