Registrars on the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) Program pursuing the Rural Generalist Fellowship are required to undertake accredited and approved Additional Rural Skills Training (ARST).

To support this, the RACGP provides ARST support payments to assist with the costs of required education and training.

Payments are up to $6000 per registrar and are available to registrars undertaking an ARST placement.

Additional Funding

Additional funding, scholarships and grants may be available in each state from various funding sources. Please refer to local organisations for further information.

Registrars may also be eligible for the Workforce Incentive Program  through the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.
