Area of research interest, activities, expertise or opportunities for academic post projects: Our Department is committed to quality primary care education and research. We lead successful research programs in primary care cancer, children’s and young people’s health, diabetes and cardiometabolic conditions, mental health, abuse and violence and the Data for Decisions program. Additionally, we have several emerging research areas, including infectious disease surveillance and stewardship, medical cannabis, integrative medicine, refugee health and women's health. We collaborate with the Healthcare Carbon Lab, Sexual Health Victoria and other organisations to improve patient health outcomes. We are keen to support your research interests. 

Teaching opportunities: The Teaching & Learning team at the Department plays an integral role in the ongoing development and delivery of the Melbourne MD. Through the academic post, you will develop your teaching skills and learn more about the theory and practice of medical education with mentorship from experienced GP academics.

Additionally, we are open to collaborating with registrars on education projects aimed at improving medical curriculum delivery to students. 

Teaching opportunities: We offer academic post registrars the opportunity to join a teaching team, instructing four rotations of general practice clinical skills to Monash medical students in their fourth year. Teaching takes place primarily in small group settings at the Alfred Hospital campus, with an opportunity to assist in objective structured clinical exams and other examination formats.
