Training program requirements

Training terms

The AGPT program is comprised of

• hospital training (52 weeks, FTE)
• core vocational training
  • general practice placements (GPT1, 2 and 3)
  • extended skills or additional rural skills training (Figure 1).

The two years of core vocational training are broken down into four terms, each lasting 26 weeks (FTE):

• three general practice terms (GPT1, 2 and 3), and
• one extended skills training (EST) term.

While on the program, you must meet the same program requirements as non-ADF registrars, as per the Training Program Requirements Policy. 

Figure1 shows the pathway to RACGP Fellowship for ADF registrars on the AGPT Program.
