If you’re offered a training place on the AGPT Program, we’ll work with you to plan your training and set you up for success. Here’s what happens next:
Spend 2–3 hours on our onboarding module to share your hospital experience and training goals. Tip: Get ahead by gathering these documents now:
Your current CV
Junior doctor assessments from hospital terms
A letter confirming completed hospital terms (if available)
Meet our training team! We’ll talk through your plans, outline next steps, and answer any questions you have.
Decide where you’ll begin:
Hospital term? Secure your placement through your state’s hospital employment process before the training year starts.
General practice term? Check you meet RACGP’s readiness for general practice training term requirements and if so, you’ll be invited to participate in the RACGP GP training placement process.
Further information will be available in our 2027 Application Guide (available late January 2026).
