Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid Dependence (MATOD)

Module 1 - Safer Opioid prescribing
ONLINE TRAINING

RACGP Victoria is offering online training on safer opioid prescribing and opioid dependence for Victorian GPs. This training is a prerequisite for prescribers who want to attend MATOD Module 2.

Prescribers must be registered with AHPRA to be eligible for this training.

Please contact RACGP Victoria if you don't have a RACGP number. This training is accessible by default for Victorian GPs. Interstate GPs please request access.

RACGP Victoria offers MATOD education for GPs helping their patients safely manage their opioid dependence. Training enables attendees to prescribe pharmacotherapy to more than 5 patients and methadone.

To be eligible for training, attendees must actively practicing in Victoria, complete MATOD Module 1 online and be registered with AHPRA.

This activity is funded by the Victorian Government.

This education is an interactive session presented by MATOD specialist GPs accredited for 40 Category 1 QI&CPD points for the 2017-2019 triennium.

Psychodynamic Principles for General Practitioners Part 3

Date: Saturday 10 August 2019
Mind and body: a one-day workshop designed to impart a detailed understanding of psychodynamic principles and their application in the treatment of common problems via focused psychological therapies.

This workshop is devoted to the mind-body interaction, covering: somatization and how the mind-body interaction results in symptoms and disease, and the psychodynamics of eating disorders and body image disorders. Understanding the psychodynamics of both mental and general illness, especially chronic illness and the role of the unconscious and conscious meaning the patient ascribes to various types of disorders and their medical treatment. What it means to be mentally well and the psychodynamics of wellness - a topic that has particular relevance not only to patients but also to GPs. Pre-requisite: Psychodynamic principles for GPs Part 1.

This workshop is accredited for 40 Category 1 QI&CPD points for the 2017-19 triennium.

Developmental Disability in General Practice ALM

This active learning module (ALM) will focus on effectively dealing with health vulnerabilities of individuals with developmental disability presenting within the general practice and community settings.
