Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid Dependence (MATOD)

Module 1 - Safer Opioid prescribing
ONLINE TRAINING

RACGP Victoria is offering online training with information and strategies for safer prescribing opioids. This training is a prerequisite for prescribers who want to attend MATOD Module 2.

Prescribers must be registered with AHPRA to be eligible for this training.

Please contact Maryan Valverde if you don't have an RACGP number to access this online training. This training is accessible by default for Victorian GPs, interstate GPs please request access.

This education is an online session accredited for 4 Category 2 QI&CPD points for the 2017-2019 triennium.

Perform CPR - A Workshop for GPs

RACGP Victoria is holding a series of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) workshops for GPs. This is an ideal opportunity to fulfil your CPR requirements for the 2017-19 triennium while at the same time networking with fellow GPs.

Accreditation: This workshop is accredited for 5 Category 2 RACGP QI&CPD points for the 2017-2019 triennium and meets the basic CPR course requirement. Completion of this workshop meets registrar requirements for CPR.

This one day highly interactive workshop focuses on recognition and management of medical emergencies in general practice, including acute coronary syndrome, acute asthma, anaphylaxis and effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), which meets the 2017-19 triennium basic CPR course requirement. It also meets the basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS) training requirements for general practice registrars and RACGP Fellowship.

This highly interactive two day workshop have been designed to further build participants' knowledge, skills and confidence when responding to medical emergencies. This education is an interactive session presented by MATOD specialist GPs accredited for 40 Category 1 QI&CPD points for the 2017-2019 triennium.

Walking on Thin ICE: Methamphetamine in General Practice

This session will provide GPs with tools and strategies to build their skills and knowledge in order to respond to and treat methamphetamine users safely and effectively.

Venue: Margaret Boyd Education Centre, Northeast Health Wangaratta, 35 Green Street ,Wangaratta 3677 VIC
Time: Light refreshments from 6.30 pm to 7.00 pm - Session starts at 7.00 pm and finishes at 9.00 pm

Learning Outcomes:

* Identify and assess the signs and symptoms of methamphetamine intoxication and dependence
* Implement communication strategies to effectively engage with methamphetamine users
* Implement an effective holistic intervention plan to assist methamphetamine users with problems

RACGP Victoria EAR Networking Forum

We are delighted to invite all RACGP Victorian EARs to attend RACGP Victoria's Education Activity Representative (EAR) Networking Forum.

The forum will involve a refresher on selected topics around the RACGP QI&CPD Program Standards and educational activity requirements. It will also showcase a number of EARs' accredited educational activities.

It is a great opportunity for EARs to share their experiences, tips and lessons learned with each other in relation to developing high quality educational activities for GPs.
