Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid Dependence (MATOD)

Module 1 - Safer Opioid prescribing
ONLINE TRAINING

RACGP Victoria is offering online training on safer opioid prescribing and opioid dependence for Victorian GPs. This training is a prerequisite for prescribers who want to attend MATOD Module 2.

Prescribers must be registered with AHPRA to be eligible for this training.

Please contact RACGP Victoria if you don't have a RACGP number. This training is accessible by default for Victorian GPs. Interstate GPs please request access.

This education is accredited for 4 Category 2 QI&CPD points for the 2017-2019 triennium.

Psychodynamic Principles for General Practitioners Part 2

Resistance and the anxiety disorders: a one-day workshop designed to impart a detailed understanding of psychodynamic principles and their application in the treatment of common problems via focused psychological therapies.

This workshop covers: Reinforcing the important principles of Part 1, the psychodynamics of resistance to improvement (defences) in all its manifestations in psychological treatment, understanding the anxiety disorders: new psychodynamic principles will be introduced and explored, and also previously discussed principles and their uses in anxiety disorders.
Pre-requisite: Psychodynamic principles for GPs Part 1.

End of Life Care - Webinar Series: Residential/Aged Care

RACGP Victoria new Fellows Committee are pleased to present the second of two webinars on End of Life care.
The overarching aim of this webinar is to encourage GPs to continue providing excellent care to people living in aged care facilities and tips on overcoming some of the challenges.
The webinar will discuss the evolving role of GPs in residential aged care facilities (RACFs) and the management of some commonly encountered problems.
Recent changes to Medicare item numbers used for RACF visits, models of providing care to nursing homes, will be discussed as well clinical support services you can call upon for assistance and an outline of the ACFI funding model.
