Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid Dependence (MATOD)

Module 1 - Safer Opioid prescribing
ONLINE TRAINING

RACGP Victoria is offering online training with information and strategies for safer prescribing opioids. This training is a prerequisite for prescribers who want to attend MATOD Module 2.

Prescribers must be registered with AHPRA to be eligible for this training.

Please contact Emily Lindsay if you don't have an RACGP number to access this online training. This training is accessible by default for Victorian GPs, interstate GPs please request access.

This education is an online session accredited for 4 Category 2 QI&CPD points for the 2017-2019 triennium.

Walking on Thin ICE: Methamphetamine in General Practice

This session will provide GPs with tools and strategies to build their skills and knowledge in order to respond to and treat methamphetamine users safely and effectively.

Learning Outcomes:

This one day highly interactive workshop focuses on recognition and management of medical emergencies in general practice, including acute coronary syndrome, acute asthma, anaphylaxis and effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), which meets the 2017-19 triennium basic CPR course requirement. Introduction To Point-of-care Ultrasound for GPs

The ´Introduction to point-of-care ultrasound for rural GPs’ Active Learning Module (ALM) is designed to support rural GPs to increase their understanding of the applications of point-of-care ultrasound in the diagnostic process. The training is delivered by rural GPs and sonographers who are experienced in using ultrasound in their practice environment.

This full-day ALM will give general practice registrars and rural & remote GPs the opportunity to identify practical applications of ultrasound technology in rural general practice settings and utilise point of care ultrasound devices under the guidance of experts.

The ALM is accredited for 40 QI&CPD Category 1 points and is also approved for the Rural Procedural Grants Program.
