In November 2018 the International Conference on Domestic Violence and Health addressed the issue of early intervention in primary care. This webinar will bring you some of the outcomes of this conference to enable this to happen in general practice. www.saferfamilies.org.au/idvh-2018

Relevance to General Practice

Early intervention in Family Abuse and Violence (FAV) has been identified as an important strategy in addressing this major issue in the Australian Community
General Practice is seeing patients involved with FAV and needs more support and skills to be able to contribute to more effectively to this issue.

Learning outcomes

  1. To increase awareness of the early presentations of family abuse and violence.
  2. To identify how to better incorporate early interventions in GP
  3. To increase understanding of how to work in a whole of practice model
  4. Better understanding of how to work with the safety of victims and their children
