92040 - OSCE Pre-Exam Standardisation Meeting

RACGP Assessment / Exams

The activity is designed to improve the case-reading and assessment skills of experienced examiners with the objective of improving standardisation of the OSCE Exam.
The 2 hour training comprises: discussion of examiner’s interpretations of the case, instructions for candidates examiners and role players, and use of key features. It includes a role play of the case by examiners.

Learning outcomes

  1. Define how the role is to be played - instructions, including cues and physical signs (where required)
  2. Observing examiner (or viva examiner): clarify role & instructions
  3. Discuss what the borderline performance looks like in each rating area and understand the key features in the case
  4. Understand all aspects of the OSCE case material
  5. Clarify any other questions about the case and of the administrative arrangements for the Exam
