What is the Expedited Pathway?
The expedited pathway is a new Ahpra program. The expedited pathway is not an RACGP program and does not lead to Fellowship of the RACGP. If you have specific enquiries about this program we suggest you direct your specific enquiries about this program to contact Ahpra or visit the Ahpra website for more information.
What pathways are that lead to Fellowship?
There are a number of RACGP pathways to Fellowship. To explore all of our pathways to Fellowship, you can use our roadmap tool, or contact our team.
If you are a Specialist International Medical Graduate (SIMG) you may be eligible for our Practice Experience Program Specialist Pathway (PEP-SP).
What is the benefit of being a Fellow of the RACGP?
Being a Fellow of the RACGP signifies that you provide safe, specialised, high-quality general practice care. It demonstrates to governments, the general practice profession and the community that a doctor is competent to practice safely and unsupervised in any Australian general practice setting – metropolitan, rural, remote and very remote communities. It also allows access to specialist medical registration and A1 Medicare rebates and the use of the post nominals FRACGP.
As a Fellow of the largest comprehensive GP network in Australia, RACGP provides you with support throughout your career. From different career paths to participation in one or more of our 37 specific interest groups, there is a network of colleagues to assist you. The RACGP values experienced practitioners and we want to support and assist doctors to work across the full scope of comprehensive Australian general practice.
Learn more about the PEP-SP on our website and please reach out if we can assist you further.
