RACGP and RDAA Medical Student Bursary Recipients

The RACGP, in partnership with the Rural Doctors Association of Australia (RDAA), are pleased to announce the recipients of this year’s $1,000 medical student rural GP placement bursaries.

These bursaries help ease the cost of rural placements, covering travel, accommodation, meals and education-related expenses so students can focus on what matters most, gaining hands-on experience in rural communities.

2026 recipients

  • Phoebe Doohan, the Australian National University
  • Ebony Higson, Charles Sturt University
  • Zoe Burns, Deakin University
  • Lauren Navarrete, Flinders University
  • Tayla Roberts, Flinders University
  • Maeve Mitchell Weir, Flinders University NT Medical Program
  • India Petherick-Cocking, James Cook University
  • Filbert Christone, the University of Adelaide
  • Keara Fitzgerald, the University of Queensland
  • Angus Johnston-Walker, the University of Western Australia
  • Georgia Masters, the University of Western Australia

This year’s bursary attracted a high number of applications of exceptional quality. The passion, commitment and insight shown by students made selecting recipients no easy task.

We’re excited to follow these students on their rural placement journeys and see the impact they’ll make in communities across Australia.

RDAA   The bursary is offered in collaboration with the RACGP and Rural Doctors Association of Australia (RDAA).
