The Pipeline Serpent

The Spiral Serpent contains the touchpoints for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander trainees along its spine. It starts at the tail with first exposure to health systems and practitioners for babies and children via their parents and caregivers. The points alongside the body of the Serpent are also important as they represent influencing factors such as community and peer support, mentors and role models. The stages of knowledge culminate at the Serpent’s head, where leaders and wisdom keepers reflect and share their knowledge.
