Counting down to the practice owners conference

The RACGP is excited to be hosting the third Practice Owners National Conference – our first major in-person event since 2019 – at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on Saturday and Sunday 19–20 June.

But this year’s conference will still represent the best of both worlds as a hybrid event (in-person and digital) open to those who aren’t yet ready, or able, to meet in person.

A dynamic conference program is broken into four targeted streams to make sure we cover as many interests as possible:

  • Current practice owners
  • Rural practice owners
  • Aspiring practice owners
  • Practice Managers
Designed to meet the needs of practice owners and practice managers during a time of major healthcare disruption, the program includes education, professional development and information updates relevant for all existing and aspiring owners and managers.

All conference sessions will be presented by GP practice owners and subject-matter experts, giving attendees the opportunity to draw from a diverse range of experiences.

The plenary sessions are sure to be highlights.

The evolution of a consumer driven primary care clinic
Dr Sam Prince, one of Australia’s most successful entrepreneurs, will sit down for a fireside chat with Dr Paresh Dawda to discuss the creation of one of the country’s most exciting new additions to primary care.

Using product thinking in general practice to create a successful clinic for the future
Darius Wey, HealthEngine’s co-founder and Head of Product and Design, will take a look inside the world of product development and how to apply key product principles in general practice.

Medicare compliance: An overview
The Department of Health will discuss on the importance of billing compliance in health program payments.

How to structure your practice and premises purchase
Presented by specialists from BOQ and William Buck, this session will look at set up and cash flow planning, joining with others in practice, tax implications of finance, and using a self-managed super fund to acquire premises.

Digital attendees won’t miss out on a thing, with all conference sessions live streamed and then made available on-demand for all who have registered.

Head to the Practice Owners National Conference website for more information on presenters, sessions, registrations, FAQs, and more.
