The profession-led community-based training project continues to develop. We’ve made some key decisions in establishing a training entity with the capacity and capability to deliver AGPT and Fellowship training into the future in partnership with the sector.
The Board also reviewed a number of standing strategic items, including the progress of some key internal projects to enhance the RACGP’s governance and member responsiveness.
We looked over the plans for Fellowship exams, and also reviewed a proposal relating to the development of an online exams platform.
In addition, the Board approved the development of a property in Townsville to ensure the college maintains a strong presence wherever our members are.
We examined a number of key policies, including education policies and the RACGP’s position in relation to health protocols in immigration detention.
July was also the final Board meeting for our outgoing CEO, Dr Matthew Miles. We thanked Matthew for his contribution to RACGP and wished him the best in his future endeavours.
We’ve started a national search for a new CEO, but in the interim the Board has asked me to take on the role of Executive Chair, which I am honoured to perform until a new CEO is in place.
