Competition Terms and Conditions


  1. The Competition is a game of skill.  Chance does not form a part of selecting the winner.
  2. The promoter is The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners Ltd (RACGP), 100 Wellington Parade, and East Melbourne VIC 3002. ABN 34 000 223 807.

Eligibility to enter

  1. Entry into this competition is free and is open to all RACGP financial members who complete the 2018 Annual Member Survey.
  2. RACGP employees, their immediate families, and all agencies associated with this Promotion, are ineligible to enter, claim or redeem prizes.


  1. Information on how to enter and the prize(s) form part of the competition terms and conditions.
  2. By entering the competition, entrants accept the competition terms and conditions.
  3. The Promotion commences at 10.00 am (AEDT) on Wednesday 21st November 2018 and concludes at 11.59 pm (AEDT) on Thursday 20th December 2018 (“Promotional Period”) after which no further entries will be considered. The RACGP accepts no responsibility for lost, late or incomplete entries.
  4. To enter, participants must:
    1. Complete the 2018 Annual Member Survey
    2. Complete the entry form by submitting their name, RACGP membership number and email address and answering the question in 25 words or less.
  5. Entrants may only enter once.
  6. The promoter accepts no responsibility for late or misdirected entries due to technical disruptions, network congestion or for any other reason.
  7. All entries become the property of the promoter.  By entering the competition entrants grant a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable license to the promoter for the use, reproduction, modification, adaption, publishing and display of their entry for an unlimited period and without remuneration for the promoter’s promotional and business purposes.
  8. In the case of intervention of some outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the promoter’s ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, the promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition entirely or recommence it on similar conditions at a later date.

Selecting winners

  1. The promoter through a panel of the promoter’s representatives will select 30 participants’ entries on the basis of merit and ease of implementation and will announce the 30 short listed participants’ entries via shareGP no later than Tuesday 5th February 2019.
  2. Voting will open at 10.00 am AEDT on Tuesday 5th Feb 2019. RACGP members will be invited to visit shareGP to vote on the 30 participant’s entries to determine the ranking of entries by the voting members.
  3. Members may only vote once.
  4. Voting will close at 10.00 am on Tuesday 19th February 2019.
  5. Based on the results of the members’ voting, the promoter will determine the winners on 25TH  February 2019 based on the top rated entries from each of the following categories as follows:
    1. 1 entry submitted by a Medical Student or Intern
    2. 1 entry submitted by a Registrar or International Medical Graduate (IMG) undertaking training
    3. 1 entry submitted by a New Fellow (GP in the last 5 years)
    4. 2 entries submitted by Mid-Career GPs (5 – 35 years)
    5. 1 entry submitted by a senior GP (more than 35 years)

In the event of a tie in voting, the promoter will determine the winners based on novelty and ease of implementation.

  1. The promoter’s decision is final and the promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries, entrant and voting.
  2. Winners will be announced within two weeks of the 25th February 2019 by contacting the winners by email and posting each winner’s name, photo, and suburb of practice on the RACGP website and shareGP.

Awarding Prizes

  1. One prize will be awarded to each of the six winning entries. 
  2. Prize consists of full complimentary registration for the RACGP’s GP19 Conference, each valued at approximately $1,000.00 and the total prize pool consists of 6 full complimentary registration for the RACGP’s GP19 Conference valued at approximately $6,000.00.
  3. Any ancillary costs incurred in connection with redeeming or enjoying a Prize, (such as costs associated with accommodation, food and transfers) are not included in the Prize, nor covered by the promoter.
  4. As a condition of winning, the winners may be required by the promoter to sign any legal documentation as determined by the promoter in its absolute discretion as a condition of acceptance of their prize, including but not limited to a legal release and indemnity form.
  5. The winner must confirm acceptance of the prize within 1 month after being selected as the winner.  If the winner does not accept the prize within 1 month after being selected as the winner, the promoter may forfeit the prize.
  6. In consideration of the promoter awarding the prize to the winner, the winner:
    1. Consents to the promoter using his or her name, likeness, image, voice and entry in any marketing and promotion of the competition, the promoter or the promoter’s organization:
    2. Consents to the promoter using the information contained in the entry to improve the promoters products and services without further payment for its use:
    3. Agrees that the prize cannot be taken as cash and is not exchangeable or transferable.
  7. Prize values are approximate, and the RACGP accepts no responsibility for any variation in prize value. If the prize is unavailable, the promoter may substitute the prize with a substitute prize, provided that the substitute is of the same or similar value or specification as the prize.


  1. The promoter is not liable for any loss, expense, damage liability incurred or suffered by entrants and winners in connection with the competition including:
    1. Any late, altered, lost, damaged or misdirected entries or prize acceptance, including delays due to technical disruptions or network congestion;
    2. Any incorrect or inaccurate information caused by equipment or programming associated with or utilised in the competition;
    3. Any technical error, including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect or delay in operation or transmission or communication line or network failure;
    4. Any destruction, unauthorised access to or alteration of entries; and
    5. Any use of the prize or any tax liability incurred by the winner as a result of accepting the prize.
  2. Nothing in paragraph 27 is intended to limit entrants’ or winners’ rights under the Australian Consumer Law 2010.

Personal Information

  1. The promoter collects personal information about entrants in order to run the competition and to comply with legal requirements about running this competition.
  2. By entering the competition, each entrant consents to the promoter using their personal information for future marketing and promotional purposes and for any other purposes described in these terms and conditions.
  3. The promoter collects and uses entrants’ personal information in accordance with its Privacy Statement (available at The Privacy Statement contains information about how entrants may opt out of these activities, how they may access, update or correct their personal information, and how the RACGP deals with complaints.
