Home-care guidelines for patients with COVID-19

De-escalating care

  • The monitoring protocol and frequency of review can be modified as the patient’s condition improves.
  • Continue to monitor the patient until they have completed their isolation period and their symptoms have resolved or are mild.
  • Arrange follow up with the patient to assess for ongoing symptoms and the need for additional support. This is also an opportunity to update management of pre-existing conditions or screening, which might have been impacted by their illness.
