Type 2 diabetes after initial diagnosis in some patients can usually be managed with diet and exercise alone.62,63

Lifestyle modification continues to play an important role in glycaemic control and managing CVD risk in more advanced stages of type 2 diabetes, and may be supported by allied health and specialist support services.
