What is UGPA?

About the UGPA

The UGPA is a not-for-profit organisation advocating for both the general practice sector and with government on issues that matter to GP registrars.

United General Practice Australia (UGPA) is a forum for key general practice organisations to come together and discuss issues that impact on the profession and its patients.

The roles of UGPA are to:

  • consider important issues relating to the profession
  • consider government initiatives that impact on general practice and appropriate responses – either individually or collectively
  • where agreed, utilise the forum to offer expert, informed strategic advice to government and other stakeholders on health system maintenance and reform
  • support and promote the provision of safe, sustainable and quality general practice.

PA aims to fulfil these roles via joint media releases, position statements, and submissions and letters to the Government or relevant stakeholders.
