RACGP submission – Australian National Audit Office Performance audit: Award of funding for Medicare urgent care clinics

The RACGP’s submission raises concerns that oversights during the establishment of UCCs may contribute to fragmentation of care and UCCs not being well integrated with existing primary care services. Specialist GPs argue that services provided by UCCs could be more efficiently delivered through local general practices if adequate funding and support were available.
