The RACGP supports informed financial consent and fee transparency and recognises the importance of ensuring patients have access to clear, timely and understandable information about the costs of their healthcare. However, the proposed requirements do not adequately address the practical challenges associated with legal enforcement, including the cost, complexity and administrative burden of pursuing fee disputes.
