The Productivity Commission is conducting five inquiries to identify and report on priority reforms in each of the areas under the Australian Government’s five pillar productivity growth agenda. The RACGP submission to the Delivering quality care more efficiently interim report advises that the interim report misses the opportunity to invest in general practice. The submission supports many of the Productivity Commission’s recommendations, collaborative commissioning partnerships and a national prevention framework. The submission emphasises that GPs need to be key players in the development of these strategies.
