The RACGP has provided a response to the Senate Standing Community Affairs Legislation Committee inquiry on the Australian Centre for Disease Control Bill 2025 and Australian Centre for Disease Control (Consequential Amendments and Transitional Provisions) Bill 2025.

The RACGP welcomes the establishment of the Australian Centre for Disease Control (Australian CDC) and has provided recommendations on GP representation, the scope of the Australian CDC, primary care data and the importance of GP engagement in data interpretation, protections around self-determination, culturally safe care and data sovereignty for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and clinical guidelines.
