Summary

Date: 19 April 2021

The Health Plan addresses many of the issues the RACGP has raised previously, for example the need for shared decision making, a healthcare system free of racism, and a focus on disease prevention and health and wellbeing. However, there remains a lack of transparency about how the Health Plan will be implemented, how current funding aligns with the activities outlined and the need for additional funding.

Our response addresses specific priorities in the Health Plan with a focus on the areas that address whole-of-population health service accountability to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
