The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners welcomes the opportunity to make a submission on the MBS Report from the Wound Management Working Group.
The RACGP strongly supports that wound management occur primarily in general practice, as this provides the patient with the most accessible and efficient treatments, whilst being the most cost effective.
Specific comments are made on a number of the recommendations with particular attention to the recommendation for GP credentialing, which may potentially introduce barriers to wound care particularly in rural and remote areas.
