RACGP submission to the National Medical Workforce Strategy

The RACGP has submitted a response to the National Medical Workforce Steering Committee regarding its proposed solutions to issues facing the current and future medical workforce.

The RACGP’s response  aims to ensure that general practice is considered at the forefront of future workforce planning. The submission recommends that solutions which will support general practice, and incentivise careers in general practice, be prioritised. This includes plans to raise the profile and prestige of general practice, increase trainee numbers, modernise and improve the MBS, and support the rollout of the rural generalist program.
