The RACGP has responded to the report of the MBS Review’s Specialist and Consultant Physician Clinical Committee (the Committee).
The Report, released in March 2019, outlined draft recommendations for stakeholder feedback.
The RACGP response to the Report supports the Committee’s recommendations to:
- introduce time-tiered attendances for non-GP medical specialists and consultant physicians
- involve a patient’s usual GP (or delegate) in case conferences to support continuity and coordination of care
- retain the specialist to specialist referral validity period at three months.
The RACGP submission also makes a number of additional recommendations.
