Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is under-recognised and underdiagnosed in Australia, leading to their patients and their families feeling unsupported and overwhelmed, resulting in substantial health and social costs.

The RACGP recommends further support and education for pregnant women and their families, GPs and other health professionals, and in local communities to help prevent FASD and support people with the disorder.
