The RACGP was asked to respond to the Senate Community Affairs References Committee's Inquiry into Support for Australia's thalidomide survivors. The inquiry has particular reference to:
- adequacy of compensation and support
- responsibility for providing support
- provision of financial compensation
- the role of the Australian Government in compensation and support; and
- any related matters.
The RACGP responded to the committee's specific questions regarding general practice and care for thalidomide survivors.
