The RACGP was asked to respond to the Senate Community Affairs References Committee's Inquiry into Support for Australia's thalidomide survivors. The inquiry has particular reference to:

  • adequacy of compensation and support
  • responsibility for providing support
  • provision of financial compensation
  • the role of the Australian Government in compensation and support; and
  • any related matters.

The RACGP responded to the committee's specific questions regarding general practice and care for thalidomide survivors.
