Amendments to mandatory reporting requirements were passed by the Queensland Parliament earlier in 2019. AHPRA's Guidelines are being updated to reflect these changes.
The RACGP response to the consultation reiterates our position that we do not support mandatory reporting and that the feedback provided is to ensure that the reporting process is clear for practitioners.
The RACGP provided feedback on an earlier draft of the Guidelines in July 2019 as part of a targeted consultation process, with many of our recommendations being addressed.
This supplementary submission outlines:
- areas for further streamlining content
- areas for providing further clarification and inclusion of examples
- clarification of the purpose of mandatory and voluntary notifications.
