Summary

Date: 17 April 2018

The Department of General Practice, Monash University prepared a draft guideline on the diagnosis and management of work-related mental health conditions. The guideline, Clinical guideline for the diagnosis and management of work-related mental health conditions in general practice, is planned for submission to the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) for approval.

The RACGP has provided feedback that the practical implications of the recommendations and consensus statements make it difficult for GPs to make any pragmatic change to the diagnosis and management of patients with work-related mental health conditions. Additionally, the RACGP has provided specific feedback to several components of the document.
