In April 2017, the Department of Health announced that it would be reviewing the Australian General Practice Training Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Support Program. As part of this review, RACGP Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health consulted widely and prepared a response which was submitted to the Department of Health on 9 August 2017.
The Department of Health is now seeking feedback on a revised policy for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Salary Support Program. The proposed policy is expected to come in to effect from 30 April 2018.
