The Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) Review Taskforce released a report from the Eating Disorders Working Group outlining proposed recommendations for new MBS consultation items.
The RACGP responded to a number of the EDWG recommendations. In particular risks to access and equity were highlighted, which relate to the introduction of a new MBS consultation item and the proposed expansion of MBS items for allied health case conferencing and care plan development. The RACGP supports a stronger role for GPs in identifying and coordinating treatment for mild to moderate eating disorders.
