The RACGP was invited to respond to the House of Representatives – Standing Committee on Health, Aged Care and Sport’s ‘Inquiry into the Aged Care Amendment (Staffing Ratio Disclosure) Bill 2018’.
The Bill’s amendments to the Aged Care Act 1997 to create greater public transparency around staffing ratio in RACFs is supported by the RACGP; however, a national, consistent regulatory framework around minimum staffing and appropriate skills mix in RACFs is vital.
