In 2018, it is ten years since the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) first committed to Closing the Gap. COAG has agreed to refresh the national Closing the Gap Strategy as four of the seven national Closing the Gap targets expire this year.
A public consultation process has commenced seeking input into the next phase of the Closing the Gap Strategy, with a focus on understanding current priorities, what worked and what should change.
COAG is aiming to complete the Refresh by the end of October 2018.
