Submission to Royal Commission into family violence

Page last updated 3 June 2019

Summary

Date: 29 May 2015

A Royal Commission into Family Violence was set up in Victoria in February 2015 to inquire into and report on how Victoria’s response to family violence can be improved.

Family and domestic violence requires significant interdisciplinary and community collaboration to prevent and ameliorate its devastating impact. In this submission, we outline how the RACGP has responded to issues of family violence facing general practice and we recommend a number of key areas for action.

The RACGP is committed to equipping GPs with the resources and expertise for preventing, identifying and managing those affected by abuse and violence.
