The RACGP thanks the Independent Hospital Pricing Authority for the opportunity to provide input into their proposed model for the Australian Mental Health Care Classification.
The RACGP provided comments regarding the importance of GP-lead hospital avoidance programs, the need for pricing to be applicable over multiple and continuing periods of care for a patient and the lifetime impact of chronic disease on mental health patients.
