Date: September 2024
The RACGP has provided a submission to the Queensland Parliament’s Health, Environment and Agriculture Committee on the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2024. Queensland is the host jurisdiction for the National Law.
The proposed reforms relate to expanding information on the public register about practitioners found guilty of sexual misconduct, implementing a nationally consistent approach to issuing reinstatement orders, and stronger protections for notifiers. The legislation follows on from a submission developed by the RACGP earlier this year on the proposed reforms.
