The GP Advocate Network is built on the strength and collaboration of GPs from across Australia, working together to ensure the voice of general practice is heard, and the high-quality, continuous care that GPs provide is recognised.
Advocates come to GP from a wide variety of backgrounds, and arrive at advocacy through just as many different pathways – each bringing their valuable, unique experience to the network. These profiles showcase just a few of those journeys.

Dr Clare Keogh
Dr Keogh is a GP Advocate for the Federal Electorate of Kingston, SA and Deputy Chair of RACGP SA. She is a practice owner, Medical Lead for Education and Advocacy at Shine SA, and champion for women's health and women's leadership in GP. Dr Keogh was also a founding member of the Southern GP Network, which she continues to coordinate.

Dr Christie Rodda
Dr Rodda is a GP Advocate for the Federal Electorate of Indi, Victoria and Chair of the RACGP Doctors for Women in Rural Medicine Committee (DWRM). During GP25, Christie delivered the pre-conference workshop 'Empowering Women in Rural General Practice: Leadership, Advocacy and Mentoring', helping develop confidence, skills, and networks that can raise the voices of busy, isolated female rural GPs.

Dr Alan Bradley
Dr Bradley is GP Advocate for the Federal Electorate of Menzies, Victoria. He is an avid Advocate and RACGP Future Leader, who has played an instrumental role in promoting the importance of advocacy skills for future leaders as well as supporting the design of an advocacy e-learning platform.
During GP25, Dr Bradley presented a quickfire presentation titled ‘RACGP GP Advocate Network: Turning Clinical Skills into Political Impact’ – earning the loudest clap of the session. Dr Bradely’s presentation highlighted how key GP skills translate to successful advocacy and empowered the audience with a reminder that MPs are ‘just people too’.

Dr Frank is a GP Advocate for the State Electorate of Torrens, South Australia. He has been a GP for nearly 50 years, and is now turning his wisdom and experience towards educating members of parliament on the role GPs play in primary care; building relationships through sharing information and advice.

Dr Tim Jones
Dr Jones is a GP Advocate for the Federal Electorate of Clark, Tasmania. and Deputy Chair of RACGP Tasmania. He was inspired to take up advocacy when Tasmania lost its Mother Baby Unit, and – as a father of young children – he ‘couldn’t sit on the sidelines’. Dr Jones is Chair of the Child and Young Person’s Health SIG, and an alumnus of the RACGP Future Leaders program.
