Submissions close: 15 March 2020
The bushfires of the 2019-20 Australian summer were unprecedented, causing widespread devastation to communities around Australia.
General practice plays a vital role during events such as these, not only providing essential healthcare, but also support and a sense of continuity and security for communities in affected areas.
A number of inquiries will be conducted into the 2019–20 bushfires over the coming months, and the RACGP will be providing submissions. We are seeking member feedback on the role of general practice during such events, and how response could be better facilitated and GPs better supported.
The RACGP will be developing a response to the:
- Senate inquiry: Lessons to be learned in relation the Australian bushfire season 2019-20
- National Royal Commission into National Natural Disaster arrangements (sometimes referred to as the 'Bushfire Royal Commission')
- State based inquiries
We would be grateful for any feedback you have by Sunday 15 March. Your responses will inform the RACGP's response. Please click the button below to submit your responses via our online survey.
